I made a resolution this year to learn to knit. A friend gifted me this kit, and it was perfect! I get overwhelmed starting to learn a new skill, but the step-by-step videos broke it down perfectly. They’re short too, so I could go back and just watch the ones I needed to repeat rather than searching around an hour-long video. I’m halfway done with my third washcloth now, and I can see how much I’ve improved since the first one! I prefer three small projects to one big one, because I can practice starting and finishing a few times before I forget how to do the casting on and off. Plus, it keeps the projects attainable and I don’t get overwhelmed. It’s only March and now I’m already planning all the holiday gifts I can knit for my loved ones! Thank you Zollie!
It’s been a long, long while since I’ve picked up knitting needles. This quick was a great reintroduction. The videos are informative, even the second, third, ….times!
I've been knitting for a long time (almost 20 years — literally where does time go!) and a cotton washcloth is always the first thing I recommend that aspiring knitters or people looking for beginner projects make. It's high quality cotton, and something that you'll actually use in your daily life after making it. Grace is a genius designer and I love the skills practices here, especially the garter stitch and color changing. Highly recommend these as a gift or a for a personal project that you'll have for many years to come.
Keep knitting!
Once you start making washcloths, you won’t want to stop. Beloved by knitters for being quick and utilitarian, they make wonderful handmade gifts all throughout the year. Add a Beam sampler pack to create new color combinations.
